Choi Youngjae 22 · FIRE · Visual · HETEROSEXUAL · BAE SANG GON childish - social - distractable - romantic - cheerful - adaptable - outgoing - optimist Youngjae is the one you'll always find on Cyworld and Renren and Twitter and Weibo and whatnot. He needs to know what's going on in the world. Youngjae believes himself to be the link between the group and the fans, mainly because he knows he's not as good at singing as some of the members, and he always takes a long time to learn complicated dances. He's not as good as their leader talking in front of cameras, nor does he consider himself particularly funny. So what does that leave Youngjae with? It took him a while to figure that out - but he did eventually. He was the group's face - the visual. The one with all the pictures and the cute statuses, the one with selcas and the captions of FIRE going out to eat together, in the practice room, on the bus, recording their next single. That was Youngjae's part. And once he realized that, he sort of...changed. From a little withdrawn, he opened up completely. He began to act cute, he began to realize what the fans wanted from them as a group, and he began to fulfill their dreams. Youngjae became so wrapped up in what fan's wanted, he lost sight of himself. But Youngjae also does what he does for the fans. He loves the fans for what they mean - they'll support FIRE, even though FIRE will never be able to know all their names. To be honest, Youngjae enjoys the attention. He likes being at the center of it all. He became the face of FIRE. But through it all, Youngjae managed to keep his childish side. Is he naive? Maybe. But he prefers to look at it more as optimistic. FIRE didn't win this time? We'll just have to come back with a stronger, better image next time. personality Talents: Piano, singing Youngjae was always known as the class ulzzang. Most of the girls (and some of the guys) would always tell him how pretty he looked, how fashionably he dressed. He even had a small following on his Cyworld. But Youngjae never made it onto Ulzzang Shidae. He auditioned for it, though, because, even at the age of 8, he felt like his home was on the stage. Youngjae grew up the only boy in a family of five. With two older sister, a father in the military and a mother who was a piano teacher and who had wanted a third girl, Youngjae grew up with a lot of feminine influences. His older sisters (identical twins - evil identical twins) treated Youngjae like he was their Barbie doll. They put him in dresses, put makeup on him, paraded him around the neighborhood like they would a show dog. By the time he reached middle school, Youngjae refused to take part in any of their antics. But the most important part of Youngjae's childhood was the piano and voice training he received from his mother. He'd inherited her long, graceful fingers and he could play complicated pieces quite well by the time he was 13. He won only one piano competition in that time, mainly because Youngjae secretly didn't want to become a professional pianist. He wanted something more glamarous. He wanted to dance and sing on a stage with bright lights, surrounded by other people who had worked just as hard as he had. The chance came to fulfill his dream at the Genesis Worldwide Search. He knewGenesis was a relatively new company at the time. Their expectations wouldn't be so high - he would have a chance. He auditioned, playing a self-composed song on the piano and singing along to it. And, as fate would have it, he passed. Youngjae became a Genesis trainee, and a year later, debuted with four other boys. They were at the pinnacle of their lives. The highest point they might ever reach. They had nowhere to go but down. background
